Gabriel India Limited, a leading Indian automotive components manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with SK Enmove, a subsidiary of South Korea’s SK Group, to form a joint venture focused on lubricants and electric vehicle (EV) fluids. The new entity, SK Enmove Gabriel India, will see SK Enmove hold a 51% majority stake, while Gabriel India retains 49% ownership, marking a significant step in Gabriel India’s diversification strategy beyond its traditional ride control systems.

Strategic Expansion into Lubricants and EV Fluids

The joint venture aims to leverage Gabriel India’s extensive distribution network and strong customer relationships along with SK Enmove’s global expertise and advanced technology. Together, the companies plan to establish a robust presence in India’s growing lubricants and EV fluids market, which is currently valued at approximately ₹40,000 crore and projected to expand steadily as EV adoption accelerates across the country.

Industry analysts view this collaboration as a strategic move that aligns with India’s electric mobility push, supporting the growing demand for high-quality EV-specific lubricants and conventional automotive fluids.

      Product Portfolio and Market Potential

SK Enmove Gabriel India will offer a wide range of products, including

      • Engine oils for conventional and electric vehicles

      • Gear oils and industrial lubricants

      • EV-specific lubricants, designed to optimize the performance and longevity of electric drivetrains

The joint venture is set to commence operations in December 2025, with plans to roll out products nationwide. This positions Gabriel India to compete effectively in both conventional automotive fluids and next-generation EV lubricants, addressing the evolving needs of India’s automotive ecosystem.

      Transforming Gabriel India’s Business Strategy

This partnership is part of Gabriel India’s transformation from a specialist in ride control systems to a diversified automotive systems and components company. By entering the EV lubricants segment, Gabriel India is not only tapping into a high-growth market but also aligning its operations with India’s sustainability and electrification goals.

SK Enmove Gabriel India will combine local market knowledge with global technology, creating products that meet international standards while catering to the unique demands of Indian EVs and vehicles.

      Future Outlook

The joint venture is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s EV infrastructure, promoting local production of EV fluids, and reducing dependence on imports. By focusing on innovation, quality, and sustainability, Gabriel India and SK Enmove aim to drive the next wave of automotive growth in India while supporting the country’s transition toward cleaner, electric mobility.
