Earlier this month, the plane, carrying four people, flew from East Hampton to John F. Kennedy Airport in the United States. It took slightly over 30 minutes to travel about 130 km.

The first all-electric aircraft to successfully finish a trip with passengers is Beta Technologies’ Alia CX300, marking a significant milestone in aviation history.

Fox News reports that the plane, carrying four people, flew earlier this month from East Hampton to John F. Kennedy Airport in the United States. It cost about ₹694 ($8) and travelled about 70 nautical miles (130 kilometres) in slightly over 30 minutes.

On the other hand, the cost of fuel for a helicopter voyage can exceed ₹13,000 ($160) for the same journey. “This is a 100% electric aircraft that just flew from East Hampton to JFK with passengers on board, which was a first for the New York Port Authority and the New York area,” stated Kyle Clark, founder and CEO of Beta Technologies. “In about 35 minutes, we travelled around 70 nautical miles.”

We spent roughly $8 on fuel to charge this gadget and fly out here. The pilot and the aircraft must be paid for, of course, but overall, it’s far less expensive.

During the flight, passengers were able to talk because there were no loud engines or propellers. According to the corporation, commuters and tourists may find electric air travel appealing due to its comfort and accessibility.

Beta Technologies, a Vermont-based company that was established in 2017, recently collected $318 million to finance the development, certification, and launch of its electric aircraft.

By the end of the year, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is anticipated to certify the CX300.

It is a great choice for quick trips between cities and suburbs because it can fly up to 250 nautical miles (about 463 km) on a single charge. According to the study, electric battery-powered aircraft, especially those with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, are already being investigated by transportation corporations for short-haul city flights.

In addition to lowering emissions and helping people escape traffic, the goal is to make the experience more comfortable and peaceful.
