On October 14, 2025, shares of Indian electric vehicle (EV) and auto component firms primarily lowers as investors booked profits due to weak overall market conditions. Aside from a few gainers, most players in the sector declined on weak global signals and cautious trading.

Sona Comstar was the top gainer, increasing 3.92% to ₹452.80, buoyed by positive sentiment from the news of new global drivetrain supply agreements. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility gained 0.28% to ₹1,000.25, maintaining support from growing battery technology. Uniparts India gained 3.55% to ₹495.25, supported by weak investor sentiment and continued institution interest.

Despite a few gainers, the overall market sentiment was negative. UNO Minda fell 3.89% to ₹1,185.40, while Greaves Cotton fell 2.16% to ₹201.40. JBM Auto, Olectra Greentech, and Exicom Tele-Systems each fell 2% and 1.8% respectively, led by broad-based selling of EV stocks.

Large-cap players also felt the heat. Bosch fell 1.37%, Exide Industries lost 1.35%, and Bharat Electronics dropped 1.71%. Tata Motors appeared to crash 40.16% to ₹395.45, though the steep fall is likely a data or technical reporting error, as no major adverse developments were reported.

Analysts said the sector’s weakness was mainly driven by cautious investor sentiment ahead of quarterly earnings announcements. The short-term market dip, they added, doesn’t change the strong long-term outlook for India’s EV and auto component space, which continues to benefit from rising electrification, policy support, and increased localization of key technologies.
