On October 23, 2025, India’s electric vehicle (EV) and auto parts stocks had a mixed trading day. This reflected targeted investor interest in a fluctuating market. Major industry players showed varying results as investors reviewed quarterly earnings, cost pressures, and updates on the upcoming Union Budget.

Bharat Forge was one of the day’s top gainers, rising 4.57% to ₹1,300.10. This increase followed renewed excitement about its electric vehicle components and green steel production. Sona Comstar increased 3.49% to ₹478.05, supported by steady export demand for drivetrain solutions and strong buying from institutional investors.

EV charging company Exicom Tele-Systems Ltd. rose 1.03%, while Tata Motors went up 1.00%, driven by hopes for better sales during the festive season and new EV model launches. Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. also saw a rise of 0.68%, maintaining its momentum ahead of its planned IPO.

Some well-known companies saw their stocks go down today. Uno Minda’s stock had the biggest fall, dropping by 28.60%. Word is that this happened because the cost of materials is going up while they are making less profit. Uniparts India fell 9.68%, and Exide Industries dropped 1.81% as concerns about competitive challenges in the battery sector grew. Hero MotoCorp and Olectra Greentech decreased by 1.03% and 1.31%, respectively.

Analysts suggest that the EV ecosystem is solid, driven by increasing localization, strong demand for electric two- and three-wheelers, and new investments in charging infrastructure. Still, profit-taking and shifts between sectors continue to affect short-term market movements.

Market analysts predict a rebound in EV-related stocks as the government rolls out a new phase of production-linked incentives (PLI) and energy storage initiatives later this quarter.
