Indian electric vehicle (EV) and automotive stocks finished the trading session on September 29, 2025, with mixed results as some stocks saw some excitement, while others were more cautious.

Bharat Forge was a highlight, closing +2.79% at ₹1,214 as their results reflected that investor confidence had returned for the company’s various mobility and defence verticals. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility was up +1.48% to ₹992.20, as optimism over its energy storage and electric vehicle batteries returned. Both UNO Minda and Olectra Greentech increased +1.30% to ₹1,285.30 and +1.10% to ₹1,570.60 respectively, also as demand for electric buses continued. Bharat Electronics was also up again, +1.03% and Bosch also moved up modestly +0.52%.

On the losing side, Greaves Cotton saw the sharpest fall of the day, slipping 2.05% to ₹212.16 amid profit booking. Exicom Tele-Systems dropped 1.55% to ₹143.64, while Ola Electric Mobility shed 1.24% to ₹54.24. JBM Auto and Minda Corporation also ended lower, down 1.08% and 0.43% respectively.

Another important move was Hero MotoCorp down 0.52% to ₹5,300.50 and Sona Comstar finishing 0.43% lower at ₹405.35. Exide Industries, Tata Motors and Uniparts India all saw small declines to finish close to even.

The day’s activity reflected diverging investor sentiment, as while older names in batteries, auto parts, and heavy engineering attracted new buying, newer entrants and some midcaps sold off. Experts believe EV and automotive will remain top of mind as indications of holiday demand, new product introductions and policy signals will influence market direction in the weeks ahead.
