On July 11, India’s electric vehicle (EV) and auto component stocks ended mostly in the red, reflecting weak investor sentiment and profit-booking pressures across the broader market. Out of 17 tracked companies in the EV ecosystem, only two Bosch and HEG closed in the green, while the rest saw varying degrees of decline.

Bosch Ltd. led the gainers, rising 0.92% to ₹36,525, supported by positive sentiment around its continued innovation in EV technologies. HEG Ltd. also moved up 0.86% to ₹505.45, likely driven by fresh interest in electrode materials tied to battery production.

While most stocks saw modest retreats, Minda Corporation experienced the largest dip, easing 2.68% to ₹503.35. It was closely followed by Hero MotoCorp, which slipped 2.38% to ₹4,218.70, amid softer two‑wheeler retail data. Other names registering gentle declines included UNO Minda (‑2.34%), Exide Industries (‑2.14%), and Tata Motors (‑1.99%).

In the new-age EV segment, Ola Electric saw a modest dip of 0.38% to ₹39.80, while Olectra Greentech fell 1.41%, reflecting some profit-taking after recent rallies.

Battery-related stocks also took a hit, with Amara Raja Energy & Mobility slipping 0.66%, and Exicom Tele-Systems down 1.79%.

The sharp declines reflect caution among investors as global economic uncertainties and domestic policy shifts around EV subsidies and sales momentum weigh on sentiment.

Despite short-term pressure, analysts expect long-term growth in the EV sector to remain strong, especially with upcoming investments, PLI-driven manufacturing expansions, and continued consumer interest.
