The Indian stock market of electric vehicle and auto component sectors had a varied performance on August 1, 2025, with some companies showing moderate gains while others experiencing big losses.

With a solid order book and higher focus on electric buses and clean mobility solutions, Olectra Greetech remained appealing to investors and ended the day with the largest increase at ₹1,443.30, closing 2.44% % higher. Hero MotoCorp saw a 1.20% gain to close at ₹4,311.60, and HBL Engineering increased 2.16% to close at ₹599.85, presumably encouraged by expectations of its continued ramp-up into EV product development. Both Bosch and UNO Minda saw gains, closing at ₹40,390.00 and ₹1,043.90, respectively.

Exicom Tele-Systems, which fell 6.81% to ₹154.99, was closely followed by HEG, which saw the steepest decline of 7.07%, closing the day at ₹532.60. A participant in the small commercial vehicle and electric three-wheeler markets, Greaves Cotton saw a 3.55% decrease in value, closing at ₹218.18.

Other significant companies such as Ola Electric Mobility (₹40.55, down 1.84%), Sona Comstar (₹437.55, down 2.67%) and Tata Motors (₹648.85, down 2.57%) also had slight declines. These declines may be indicative of investor apprehension from global uncertainty and quarterly earnings season.

In addition, Bharat Forge, JBM Auto, Minda Corporation and Amara Raja Energy & Mobility had small reductions of 1% to 2% each.

The electric vehicle market continues to be dynamic, as daily stock performance continues to be propelled by corporate announcements, policy announcements and global macroeconomic indicators. As investors assess company fundamentals and other market-based externalities, the short-term typical volatility may be overlooked in the long-term prospects for electric mobility.
