On October 9, 2025, Indian electric vehicle (EV) and auto component stocks showed mixed results as investors weighed their options between taking profits and maintaining long-term investments in clean mobility.

Sona Comstar was the biggest winner of the day, rising 5.98% to close at ₹429.45. This increase was fueled by positive investor sentiment after reports of new global supply deals. Graphite electrode maker HEG also experienced a notable gain of 3.81%, closing at ₹535.35. This rise indicated a renewed sense of optimism in industrial and energy-related sectors.

Among other gainers, Bharat Forge rose 1.54% to ₹1,209.30. Uniparts India increased 1.80% to ₹454.75. Greaves Cotton gained 0.60% to ₹208.78, helped by steady demand in the electric three-wheeler and component sectors.

On the downside, UNO Minda saw the biggest drop, falling 3.92% to ₹1,260.00 due to profit booking after recent gains. Ola Electric Mobility continued to decline, slipping 2.02% to ₹50.20. JBM Auto fell by 0.94% to ₹652.85. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, a key battery player, decreased 0.83% to ₹997.70. Exide Industries also went down by 0.19% to ₹397.60.

Blue-chip stocks showed little movement. Hero MotoCorp was nearly flat at ₹5,512.00, while Tata Motors dipped slightly by 0.07% to ₹681.10.

In general, the session reflected a wary sentiment among investors. There was cautious purchasing in battery technology and precision parts, while profit-taking impacted established electric vehicle manufacturers. Analysts predict that volatility will persist in the near term as the market anticipates key earnings reports and policy indicators related to India’s EV manufacturing landscape.
