ETO Motors, a Hyderabad-based electric mobility innovator, has officially launched its fleet of electric three-wheelers in Amaravati, operated entirely by trained women drivers. The initiative, aimed at strengthening first-mile and last-mile connectivity across Andhra Pradesh’s capital region, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu during the opening of the APCRDA Headquarters.
This groundbreaking project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s vision to transform Amaravati into a model sustainable capital. By deploying women-led electric fleets, the programme combines environmental sustainability with social empowerment. “These women drivers will ferry passengers from nearby villages to the Capital Region, becoming financially independent and contributing to a cleaner, greener Amaravati,” said the Chief Minister, applauding ETO Motors for its inclusive development strategy.
Seamless Multimodal Connectivity
Mr Rajeev YSR, Chief Marketing Officer of ETO Motors, highlighted the company’s unified ticketing system, which allows passengers to travel efficiently across three-wheelers, buses, and cars. The electric fleet will cover key routes connecting Gannavaram Airport, Vijayawada, Amaravati, and Guntur, offering a fully sustainable, non-polluting transportation network.
In its first phase, ETO Motors plans to deploy:
-
300 electric three-wheelers
-
100 electric cars
-
20 electric shuttle buses
The multimodal approach ensures affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly mobility for residents and visitors while creating employment opportunities and fostering micro-entrepreneurship among women and marginalised communities.
Commitment to Green Mobility and Women Empowerment
The project underscores ETO Motors’ dedication to sustainability and inclusive growth. By integrating electric mobility with economic empowerment, the company is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s green transport revolution.
Expressing gratitude, ETO Motors acknowledged the guidance and support of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD Sri P. Narayana Garu, and Sri Kannababu IAS, Commissioner, APCRDA, in enabling the project. Key company representatives present at the launch included Sri Bhaskar Ponnapula, Director – ETO Group; Mrs Preethi Belinda Jasti, Vice President – Operations; and Mr Nirmal, President of ETO Motors.
