Canadian battery manufacturer Electrovaya has entered into a supply agreement with Janus Electric, an Australian company specialising in converting diesel trucks into fully electric vehicles.
As part of the deal, Electrovaya will provide its Infinity lithium-ion battery systems, designed with an interchangeable feature, to support Janus Electric’s growing electrification projects. The move comes shortly after Janus Electric’s public listing on the Australian stock exchange.
Dr Raj DasGupta, CEO of Electrovaya, highlighted the importance of advanced technology in heavy-duty transport electrification. “Heavy trucks are among the hardest vehicles to electrify. With our proprietary battery systems, we deliver high cycle life, safety, and durability under tough operating conditions,” he said.
Janus Electric CEO Ian Campbell emphasised that the partnership provides scalable, high-performance battery solutions for freight and logistics. “This agreement is a major step toward decarbonising heavy transport with swappable lithium-ion battery systems,” he added.
Beyond truck conversions, Janus Electric also develops charging infrastructure and fleet management software, positioning itself as a comprehensive solutions provider for zero-emission freight.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward enabling cleaner, more sustainable logistics through battery-swapping technology and innovative electrification solutions.
