Leading lithium-ion battery manufacturer Electrovaya Inc. and Australian heavy transport vehicle electrification pioneer Janus Electric Holdings Limited have signed a historic commercial supply agreement.
As per the agreement, Janus Electric’s swappable battery platform for Class 8 electric vehicles will be powered by Electrovaya’s Infinity high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems, which are created with patented Infinity cell technology. The goal of this partnership is to replace diesel-powered goods vehicles with electric trucks that emit no emissions, especially for Australia’s long-haul trucking sector, which is responsible for transporting some of the heaviest loads across long distances.
“Class 8 trucks are some of the most challenging automobiles to electrify,” according to Electrovaya CEO Dr Raj DasGupta. The performance, safety, and long cycle life of our technology—all crucial characteristics for heavy-duty commercial vehicles—are validated by this agreement.
Electrovaya’s Infinity battery systems offer:
- Superior safety
- Extended cycle life
- High performance under extreme conditions
For Janus Electric’s modular truck conversion systems, which depend on quick-swap battery packs to guarantee that freight operators have as little downtime as possible, these qualities are essential.
Ian Campbell, CEO of Janus Electric, stated, “Janus now has access to top-notch battery systems that satisfy the exacting requirements of the goods industry thanks to this partnership.” “We’re spearheading the effort to decarbonise heavy transport together.”
Both businesses share a dedication to using new, scalable electrification solutions to decarbonise industrial transportation. The partnership lays a solid basis for growth along important freight corridors and logistics networks, as demand for clean-energy mobility solutions rises globally.
