ElectriGo, a full-stack electric bus leasing platform, has officially launched its electric bus leasing solution aimed at private and contract bus operators. The company also announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Energy Mobility Solutions Ltd (GEMS) for the deployment of 50 electric buses across key transport routes in India.
The MoU was formalised on August 1, 2025, in Chennai, and it represents a significant milestone in accelerating the commercial adoption of electric buses in public and contract transportation segments.
Partnership to Drive Scalable Electric Mobility
Under the agreement, ElectriGo will provide end-to-end leasing support, including vehicles, charging infrastructure, maintenance, and technology-enabled fleet management. The partnership is designed to reduce operational complexity for bus operators while ensuring predictable performance and improved uptime.
To strengthen its operational capabilities, GEMS has also announced the launch of Ziel Mobility, a green aggregator ecosystem focused on electric passenger buses and electric trucks.
ElectriGo’s Journey from Turno to Electric Buses
ElectriGo builds on the success of Turno, India’s largest electric small commercial vehicle (eSCV) platform, launched in 2021 by former Zoomcar CXOs Hemanth Aluru and Sudhindra Reddy. Turno helped more people use electric vehicles in areas that needed them by providing new ways to pay, guarantees for battery buybacks, and knowledge about reusing batteries, which made owning these vehicles cheaper overall.
Launched in 2024, ElectriGo extends this mission-led approach to the electric bus ecosystem by offering integrated charging infrastructure, proactive maintenance, and real-time telematics, enabling operators to adopt electric buses with greater confidence.
Leadership Speaks on the Collaboration
Commenting on the partnership, Sudhindra Reddy Pidapa, Co-founder of ElectriGo, said,
“This MoU represents a shared commitment to accelerating India’s transition to cleaner and more cost-efficient mobility. By combining ElectriGo’s full-stack leasing model with dependable on-ground operations, we are making electric buses both accessible and commercially viable for operators.”
Sunil Kumar Ravindran, Director at GEMS and Ziel Mobility, added,
“Ziel Mobility forms a critical operating layer within our broader EV ecosystem. With electric buses, trucks, mining equipment, and high-capacity charging infrastructure, our focus is on real-world deployment rather than pilots. Supported by ElectriGo’s technology-backed financing and lifecycle support, we have a clear roadmap of deploying 200 buses, 150 trucks, and 50 mining machines by FY 2026–27.”
First Deployment Begins in Hyderabad
As part of the agreement, ElectriGo has commenced deliveries with the first tranche of 10 electric buses deployed in Hyderabad on December 16, 2025. These buses will operate with complete maintenance and operational support from ElectriGo, ensuring high uptime and efficient daily operations.
Expanding Presence Across Key Markets
ElectriGo has established a growing presence across multiple regions, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi-NCR. The partnership with GEMS further reinforces the company’s commitment to enabling scalable, dependable, and economically sustainable electric mobility solutions across India.
