Volkswagen has officially unveiled the all-new ID. Polo, an electric version of its popular Polo hatchback. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s advanced MEB+ platform, the model has already entered pre-sales in international markets. The electric hatchback comes with a starting price of around €25,000 (approximately ₹27.76 lakh).

Dimensions: the new ID. Polo measures 4053mm in length, 1816mm in width and 1530mm in height, and the wheelbase is 2600mm. Thanks to the MEB+ platform, the new model offers improved cabin space and bigger boot than the ICE derivative. It has a boot space of 441-litres, which is 90-litres higher than the conventional Polo. The boot space can be increased by up to 1240-litres by folding the second-row seats.

Design Highlights: the new ID. Polo features the brand’s timeless design with connected LED headlights with eyelid-esque DRLs and an illuminated VW logo in the centre. The lower bumper houses an air-dam flanked by vertically placed air intakes. It gets prominent creases and flared fenders, while the C-pillar design is inspired by the original Golf. The top-spec model rides on 19-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the hatchback gets a wraparound LED light bar with an illuminated VW motif, and a prominent roof spoiler.

The lower-spec model is offered with two power outputs – 116hp and 135hp. The 37kWh battery is claimed to offer a range of up to 329km.
