In a historic move towards sustainable urban infrastructure, EKA Mobility, a leader in electric vehicles and technology, gave the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC) in Goa ten cutting-edge electric garbage tippers. The Hon. Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant Ji, formally launched the deployment, reaffirming the state’s goal to set an example for sustainable mobility and environmental stewardship.
With a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of up to 180 km on a single charge, the ten electric rubbish tippers that are being used are perfect for everyday municipal operations. With a full charge time of roughly 6 to 8 hours, the vehicle’s sturdy 32 kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery guarantees steady functioning. Its payload capacity of about 1,000 kg allows for cleaner and more effective rubbish collection in urban settings, striking the ideal mix between sustainability and practicality.
“At EKA, we think sustainability starts at the street level — in the everyday services that define our cities,” stated Mr. Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility. “This SMC deployment serves as an example of how local governments may adopt innovation to benefit people and the environment.”
“This partnership with EKA Mobility marks a pivotal moment in Sankhali’s journey towards cleaner, greener governance,” stated Ms. Rashmi Dilip Desai, the former chairperson of SMC, and Ms. Siddhi S. Prabhu Porob, the current chairperson of SMC. “These electric tippers will improve rubbish collection efficiency and demonstrate our dedication to conscientious and forward-thinking urban development.”
A significant step towards Goa’s environmentally responsible and sustainable urban trash management is this milestone. With their superior telematics, reduced noise pollution, and zero tailpipe emissions, EKA’s electric garbage tippers have the potential to completely transform municipal rubbish collection by making it more effective, quieter, and clean.
