EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle and technology company, has completed the delivery of three 9-metre electric buses to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. The project was funded under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India and secured via a reverse auction on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.
The buses feature a 23+1 seating configuration with pushback seats for enhanced comfort, along with a wheelchair and hydraulic lift, ensuring seamless accessibility for differently-abled passengers. These vehicles aim to provide a safe, sustainable, and inclusive last-mile mobility solution for patients, staff, and visitors at AIIMS.
The handover ceremony was officiated by Shri R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director of Power Grid, and Dr M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS, along with senior officials from both organisations.
