EKA Mobility, a leading automotive and technology company in the electric mobility sector, and Chartered Speed, a renowned passenger bus mobility services provider, have announced a major milestone in India’s green mobility transition. The two companies will deploy 1,135 electric buses under the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme.

The companies recently received a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for 235 buses, in addition to the earlier allocation of 900 buses, taking the total confirmed deployment to 1,135 buses across the country. This initiative is projected to serve over 3.6 lakh passengers daily and generate more than 2,500 jobs, boosting both sustainable mobility and inclusive economic growth.

As part of the latest allocation, Chartered Speed will procure, operate, and maintain the fleets across Madhya Pradesh (110 buses), Odisha (60 buses), Chhattisgarh (35 buses), and Meghalaya (30 buses).

Speaking on the development, Mr Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said, “EKA Mobility’s mission has always been to make clean, safe, and efficient mobility accessible to all. Through the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme and our collaboration with Chartered Speed, we are proud to deploy 1,135 electric buses that will serve lakhs of citizens every day. Every bus we put on the road is a step towards reimagining India’s cities—making them smarter, greener, and more people-centric.”

Mr Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed, added, “Chartered Speed’s vision is to transform everyday travel through clean, efficient, and inclusive public transport. This allocation under the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, along with our partnership with EKA Mobility, is a significant step in that direction. It reflects our commitment to creating reliable mobility solutions that ease commuting, support local communities, and contribute to India’s green mobility mission.”

By combining EKA Mobility’s EV manufacturing expertise with Chartered Speed’s operational excellence, the partnership aims to deliver safe, efficient, and eco-friendly transport across Indian cities, reinforcing their role in advancing India’s sustainable mobility agenda.
