The Eberspaecher Group has started producing thermal management systems for electric city buses and coaches at a new facility in Przylesie, Poland. Approximately 20,000 systems will be produced annually.

“We need to increase our capacity for bus air conditioning systems due to the growing demand for electric buses,” stated Jorg Steins, CEO of Eberspaecher Group. For the past seven years, the Bus and Coach Business Unit has been manufacturing in Poland. Leading multinational manufacturers have started serial production of a new thermal management system for electric city buses and coaches in addition to the manufacturing lines that were moved from the Olawa production facility. “With around 30 percent more capacity compared to the previous site, we are ideally positioned for current and future e-mobility orders,” Steins said.

Two new production lines are being constructed in addition to the ones that were moved from Olawa. Beginning in January 2025, Eberspaecher will manufacture the AC138 EVOthermal management system here.

“The AC138 EVO with its patented reversal of the air circuit is our high-tech and market‑defining top product for electromobility,” says Oliver Wels. The heat pump’s great energy efficiency and low system complexity make it an impressive choice for hybrid and battery-electric buses. The system with the climate-friendly CO₂ and R744 refrigerants is being introduced by Eberspaecher.
