Electric two-wheeler manufacturer E-Went has introduced its new electric scooter, the Lightning electric scooter, in the Indian market. The scooter offers a claimed riding range of up to 160 km on a single charge, positioning it as a long-range option for daily commuters.
The Lightning is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack, while a higher variant comes with a 3.5 kWh dual portable lithium battery system. The removable battery design allows users to detach and charge the batteries separately, making it convenient for those without dedicated charging points at home.
In terms of performance, the scooter can reach a top speed of around 70 km/h and features three riding modes Eco, Ride and Power allowing riders to balance efficiency and performance depending on their needs.
The model also includes several safety and convenience features such as regenerative braking with ABS support, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, and dual LED projector headlamps designed to improve night visibility. The scooter’s motor carries an IP67 rating, while the controller is IPX7 rated, providing protection against dust and water.
To strengthen customer confidence, the company is offering a five-year or 50,000 km warranty on the motor, along with a two-year rust warranty on the chassis. The Lightning electric scooter is expected to be available for customers starting April 2026.

The 160 km claimed range and removable battery setup really stood out to me, especially at the ₹99,999 dual price point. That makes the Lightning sound more practical than a lot of budget-focused launches.
I liked that mix of usable range and simple charging. It honestly made me curious. Have you had any seat time on it yet, or is this still based on the launch details?
