Food delivery gig workers have been hailed by Delhi’s transportation minister, Kailash Gahlot, as “pollution warriors” for their efforts to promote electric vehicles.

Thousands of gig workers attended an event hosted by Zomato and Blinkit, where Gahlot emphasized the vital role they play in the Indian economy and their commitment to environmental preservation.

He urged gig workers to switch to electric cars in order to make Delhi pollution-free. Gahlot underlined that electric cars are an important step in lowering air pollution as well as a technological achievement. He urged delivery platforms to actively assist in this shift and encourage gig workers to embrace electric vehicles.
