The Delhi Government is set to introduce the eBike-Didi scheme, an all-women electric bike taxi service aimed at providing safe, eco-friendly, and convenient last-mile travel for female tourists in the city.

The initiative will deploy trained women riders on electric two-wheelers to ensure secure transport, particularly in tourist-heavy areas. By combining women’s safety with green mobility, the program also seeks to promote environmentally sustainable transport options across the national capital.

Officials stated that the scheme will focus on key tourist zones and high-footfall areas, making it easier for female visitors to travel without relying solely on traditional taxis or ride-hailing services. The program is also expected to create employment opportunities for women riders, empowering them in a growing sector of urban electric mobility.

Preparations for the launch are reportedly underway, including recruitment and training of women riders, procurement of electric bikes, and coordination with city traffic authorities. While the exact launch date has not been announced, authorities aim to roll out the service soon to serve as a model for safe and sustainable urban transport.
