Rekha Gupta inaugurated 300 new electric buses to strengthen the city’s public transport fleet and promote sustainable mobility.
The buses will operate under the Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster services, improving connectivity across major routes. The move aims to reduce air pollution while providing passengers with quieter and more comfortable rides.
The new EV buses feature air-conditioning, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and low-floor designs for better accessibility. This rollout forms part of Delhi’s larger plan to expand its zero-emission public transport network and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Officials confirmed that additional electric buses will be inducted in the coming months as the city accelerates its transition toward green urban mobility.
