CRRC Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. (CRRC EV), a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Ltd., unveiled a series of groundbreaking innovations at the Busworld Europe 2025 Congress in Brussels, solidifying its leadership in new energy commercial vehicles, intelligent mobility, and low-carbon urban transportation solutions.
At the event, CRRC EV introduced two next-generation all-electric buses—the EU12C premium electric coach and the ED12 double-decker bus—alongside its Digital & Intelligent Low-Carbon Urban Transportation System Solution, a comprehensive platform designed to accelerate global smart and sustainable mobility.
CRRC EV Unveils Two Advanced Electric Buses
The EU12C, CRRC EV’s new flagship all-electric coach, is engineered for long-distance travel and premium passenger comfort. Built on an 800-volt architecture delivering 480 kW of peak power and 5,100 N·m torque, the EU12C can effortlessly handle steep grades of over 30%. With an aerodynamic exterior, optimised powertrain, and range of up to 550 km per charge, the vehicle supports ultra-fast charging to minimise downtime—making it ideal for intercity and luxury transport operators.
The ED12 double-decker bus combines cutting-edge design and lightweight construction, using high-speed rail-grade aluminium-alloy materials to improve efficiency and durability. With a 126-passenger capacity and a range of up to 560 km under ESORT test conditions, the ED12 promises exceptional operational flexibility for busy urban routes. It also features a 10-layer battery safety system and a 20-year service life, underlining CRRC EV’s focus on safety and longevity.
Launch of the Integrated Low-Carbon Mobility Platform
In addition to the new vehicles, CRRC EV introduced its Digital & Intelligent Low-Carbon Urban Transportation System Solution, an integrated platform designed to optimise citywide mobility ecosystems. This platform consists of four core layers:
-
Smart Cloud Brain (TOCC): A central AI-driven data hub utilising IoT and big data analytics for real-time decision-making, fleet optimisation, and predictive maintenance.
-
Urban MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service): Offers AI-based route scheduling, on-demand ride-hailing, and smart maintenance systems. In Zhuzhou’s “Yunshang Bus” pilot, this solution increased service revenue tenfold compared to traditional fixed-route operations.
-
Smart Logistics: Integrates passenger and freight systems to cut last-mile delivery costs by 50% and improve efficiency by 40%.
-
Green Infrastructure: Enables vehicle-road-cloud integration with SL3 perception technology, supporting autonomous driving, smart traffic management, and connected vehicle services.
Advancing Global Low-Carbon Mobility
CRRC EV’s exhibit also underscored its broader clean energy ecosystem, showcasing its “wind-solar-hydrogen-vehicle” strategy. This initiative produces 32.5 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually, offsetting 40 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, and demonstrating CRRC’s commitment to a sustainable global transport future.
By combining next-generation EV technology, digital intelligence, and renewable energy integration, CRRC EV continues to drive the evolution of low-carbon, intelligent urban transportation systems worldwide.
