      Courtyard By Marriott Agra Installs EV Charging Station

      Committed towards building a sustainable future, Courtyard By Marriott Agra has installed an EV charging station at the property, cementing its goal towards serving the planet by adopting sustainable business practices.

      Courtyard By Marriott This initiative was taken by Courtyard By Marriott Agra ties into Marriott International’s global vision of building sustainable operations and creating a widespread network of Electric Vehicle charging stations.

      Electric vehicles have become an everyday reality on Indian roads, our discerning guests to have become increasingly aware of the environmental benefits of electric vehicles and this has started to influence their buying decisions when it comes to selecting a hotel. As a company, we have taken cognizance of this paradigm shift in guests’ expectations and have since embraced these initiatives in our regular operations.

      Saurabh Khanna, General Manager, Courtyard By Marriott, Agra said, “We aim to meet the fast-growing demand of guests using Electric Vehicles for their commute to Agra. With this initiative, not only do we expect to attract more guests but also establish the brand as a leader in sustainability. CHARGE ZONE has installed two fast charging stations at the property that are designed to charge these vehicles from 0 to 80% within 45-60 minutes. We believe that travelers around the world are extremely conscious of their carbon footprint and yearning to engage with hotels practicing sustainable and responsible business practices.”

      Courtyard By Marriott, Agra invited Navneet Singh Chahal, District Magistrate of Agra as their Chief Guest, for the launch of their EV charging zone.

      He mentioned that we are now seeing a migration across the globe with people shifting towards alternative and green modes of transportation. We continuously want to reduce the carbon footprint and adapt sustainable means of living for a better future. The inaugural event was also attended by Vishwanath Sharma, Regional Officer, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board.

      Marriott International will continue to embrace sustainable practices and green sources of energy in order to create new benchmarks in the tourism industry.
