Coca-Cola India and its bottling partners are transforming the country’s logistics sector with the expansion of one of India’s largest truck fleets, now featuring more than 5,000 electric vehicles (EVs). The move strengthens Coca-Cola’s vast distribution network while accelerating India’s sustainable logistics transition and creating employment opportunities nationwide.
Nationwide EV Fleet Expansion
Coca-Cola’s supply chain covers hundreds of kilometres each day, ensuring product availability across both urban and rural markets. As part of the latest push, Superior Drinks Pvt. Ltd. has introduced nearly 200 new trucks and EVs this year, while SLMG Beverages has deployed more than 3,000 EVs over the past three years to improve last-mile delivery. Additionally, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has rolled out about 500 EVs across 10 states, enhancing regional logistics capacity.
This scale-up cements Coca-Cola’s role as a key contributor to India’s green logistics revolution, with bottling partners expected to further expand EV adoption in the coming years.
Technology Meets Impact
Bottling partners are investing in tech-enabled supply chain solutions aimed at faster and more cost-efficient service. EV adoption is also helping reduce emissions, aligning with both India’s clean mobility goals and Coca-Cola’s global sustainability commitments.
Vinay Nair, Chief Commercial Officer at HCCB, said,
“Fleet augmentation not only strengthens our last-mile deliveries but also reinforces our commitment to agile, tech-enabled supply chain solutions that serve our retailers faster and better while contributing to the local economies.”
Driver Welfare and Road Safety
Alongside fleet expansion, Coca-Cola has intensified focus on workforce welfare. Thousands of truck drivers—integral to reliable delivery—now benefit from initiatives such as annual road safety training adapted to Indian conditions, health and vision check-ups, and stress management workshops. Regular vehicle assessments are also being conducted to enhance operational safety.
Sundeep Bajoria, Vice President, Coca-Cola India, stated,
“Our trucking ecosystem is a living engine of economic opportunity and impact-led progress. As we scale our capabilities, we remain equally focused on enabling the people who power this network with safety, skill-building, and support.”
Industry Perspectives
Ashish Sethi, CEO of Superior Drinks Pvt. Ltd., described the expansion as “building a delivery powerhouse that delivers unmatched speed, scale, and reliability.” Meanwhile, Rahul Kumar, Deputy CEO of SLMG Beverages, called EV adoption a “deliberate move to improve delivery speed and capacity, especially in rural markets, while enhancing cost-to-serve.”
A Green and Inclusive Future
With every kilometre covered by Coca-Cola’s growing EV fleet, the company is not only distributing beverages but also driving sustainable growth, creating livelihoods, and steering India’s logistics industry toward a cleaner and more inclusive future.
