In order to develop electric vans, CMA CGM Group collaborates with Flexis SAS, which was founded by the Renault Group and the Volvo Group. CMA CGM purchases a 10% share in Flexis SAS through its energy fund, PULSE, with ambitions to strategically invest up to EUR 120 million by 2026.

With 45% of Flexis SAS each, Volvo Group and Renault Group intend to invest a total of EUR 300 million over the following three years.

The European market for these types of e-vans is expected to grow by 40% yearly until 2030 as a result of increased demand for electrified vehicles brought on by CO2 laws, pressures related to climate change, and the growth of e-commerce and logistics.

As a result, Flexis SAS is being established by the Volvo Group, Renault Group, and CMA CGM Group to lead the decarbonisation of the logistics and transportation industries. Flexis, an alliance of three prominent industry players, combines the manufacturing know-how of top automakers with the logistical know-how of a preeminent automotive logistics company.

These businesses are renowned for their innovations in electric car and software development, LCV production (for the Renault Group), transportation solutions that prioritise customised services, productivity, and uptime (for the Volvo Group), logistics, especially in the automotive industry, and supply chain decarbonisation (for CMA CGM).

The cars will be constructed on a brand-new, totally electric LCV skateboard platform that will provide excellent modularity for a variety of body shapes at a cost that is competitive and a significant advancement in safety regulations.

The truck will have unparalleled capabilities to track delivery activities and business performance by utilising the new connected electronic platform. This will lower the worldwide cost of utilisation for logistic companies by up to 30%.

Customers will be able to take advantage of modern automobiles throughout the duration of their lives thanks to the connected services. The e-van itself will have the first 800V design for cars in this class on the market, exceptional capacity for urban mobility, and significant polyvalence for customised solutions with varying battery capacities.
