At a recent media roundtable, co-founder Anupam Thareja stated that Classic Legends, the parent company of Jawa, Yezdi, and BSA bikes, intends to treble its sales in FY26, introduce four new models, and penetrate seven new export markets.
- Classic Legends plans to expand its dealer network from 350 to 500
- The brand is also working on a 450cc platform
The goal of Classic Legends is to improve its present products.
The 2025 Adventure was introduced by Yezdi and retailed for between Rs 2.15 lakh and Rs 2.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Regarding the launch of a new engine in the middleweight motorcycle market, Thareja stated that although the firm is developing a 450cc engine platform, it might not be ready for release this year. The business is now concentrating on enhancing its current engine platforms instead.
“To be honest, I’m over the CC game. The bike’s performance in actual riding situations is what counts. We have bulletproof engines. We’re now experimenting with handling, suspension, gear ratios, sprockets, and everything else that adds to the ride’s excitement,” he stated. “We’re improving and honing our current products to provide greater value and adaptability.”
Rather than branching out into completely new markets, Thareja says Classic Legends is concentrating on bolstering its current lineup, which includes roadsters, adventure tourers, and vintage motorbikes. “We must make the most of what we now have. Our product lines, pricing, and positioning are becoming more targeted,” he stated.
Currently, Classic Legends sells five models under the Jawa brand, one cycle under the BSA brand, and three models under the Yezdi brand: the Roadster, Scrambler, and Adventure. Despite having a solid brand history, the company has had trouble getting traction in the middleweight motorbike market because of problems with after-sales support, product quality, and disruptions brought on by the worldwide pandemic. But now, BSA intends to introduce a new version of the scrambler that will be driven by the same 650cc single-cylinder engine that drives its Goldstar.
