A record 34,863 unit sale in March 2025 by Bajaj Auto’s Chetak electric scooter made it the leading e-scooter selling in India. This is a reflection of the strategic position held by Bajaj Auto in the electric vehicle (EV) segment and reflects a clear trend among consumers towards green mobility solutions.

The Chetak has seen its all-time record monthly sales in March 2025 with Bajaj Auto shipping 34,863 units, or more than 1,124 motorbikes per day on average. Due, primarily, to such exceptional performance, the fiscal year’s overall sales have breached the 230,761 units mark for the first time in history, creating a new record. This is an exceptional 116% higher sales compared to 106,624 units last year.

In FY2025, the firm experienced 20% market share, nearly doubling from 11% last year. Several proactive measures undertaken in this year, primarily the December 2024 introduction of the new 35 Series, which has been a success with customers, are responsible for this increase.

TVS is the second-largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer. TVS iQube retailed 30,453 units with a market share of 23 percent. TVS achieved a market share of 21 percent when it retailed 237,551 units for FY2025, which is a 30 percent jump from 183,189 units of FY2024.

Ather Energy came fourth with a market share of 12 percent and retailed 15,446 e-scooters in March 2025. They sold 130,913 units at a growth of 20 percent year-over-year and a market share of 11.40 percent, down a notch from their 11.50 percent market share in FY2024. They sold 16,233 copies in October 2024, Ather’s second-best-selling month to date.
