Chery has patented the Lepas L6 electric SUV in India, signaling potential plans to enter the country’s growing EV market. The model is expected to make its global debut in the UK in the fourth quarter of 2026.
In terms of design, the electric version of the Lepas L6 stands apart from its internal combustion (ICE) counterpart. While the ICE model features a bold, traditional grille, the EV adopts a closed-off front design, highlighted by unique spade-shaped elements connected by a slim light strip. The vehicle also includes functional air vents, a feature commonly seen in electric cars for improved aerodynamics and cooling.
The overall shape and proportions of the Lepas L6 closely resemble the Chery Tiggo 8, suggesting a spacious SUV profile aimed at family buyers.
Under the hood, the Lepas L6 EV is expected to come equipped with a 67 kWh battery pack, delivering an estimated range of around 270 miles (approximately 434 km). The setup likely includes an LFP battery and a capable electric motor similar to the one used in the Jaecoo J5 EV, producing around 207 bhp and 288 Nm of torque.
With these specifications, the Lepas L6 EV appears positioned as a practical, mid-range electric SUV, balancing performance and efficiency.
