The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), Chennai has started a new premium bus service to link key IT corridors and major employment centers across the city. The service includes air-conditioned electric buses designed to provide a more comfortable commuting option for daily passengers.
The new routes connect prominent locations such as Siruseri IT Park, Koyambedu, Thiruvanmiyur, and Kilambakkam. Each bus offers reserved seating, which can be booked through the Chennai One mobile application, ensuring a confirmed seat for every commuter.
The initiative is part of MTC’s efforts to improve public transportation in Chennai, particularly for those traveling to and from IT and business hubs. By offering modern buses with guaranteed seating, the service aims to encourage more commuters to shift from private vehicles to public transport.
The MTC has stated that the premium bus service will operate on a regular schedule, catering to peak commuting hours, and will continue to expand as demand increases.
