Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) and Fuzhou Public Transport Group have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement aimed at advancing the development of electric public transportation systems. The agreement was signed on March in Ningde, Fujian province, and marks a significant step in expanding China’s electric bus infrastructure and services.
According to the announcement, the partnership will focus on multiple areas tied to the evolving lifecycle of electric bus fleets, including:
- Battery aftermarket services
- Urban battery‑swapping infrastructure development
- Battery recycling initiatives
- Vehicle‑to‑Grid (V2G) integration technologies
These initiatives are designed to address key challenges that arise after large‑scale electric bus electrification, such as improving energy replenishment efficiency and prolonging battery lifespan.
Fuzhou Public Transport Group is already fully electrified, and the new agreement aims to build a safer, more efficient, and lower‑carbon energy ecosystem for urban transit. The collaboration will also help develop advanced battery management models that extend the value of battery assets far beyond their initial use phase into full lifecycle circulation.
