During the first three quarters of 2024, the Cadillac LYRIQ topped its segment in sales across the United States, establishing itself as a dominant force in the luxury electric vehicle (EV) industry. The popularity of the LYRIQ, which sold over 20,000 units between January and September, highlights the rising demand for luxury SUVs that are all-electric and combine affordability, performance, and range.
With almost 3,000 units sold, California was in the lead, closely followed by Florida and Texas, both of which sold more than 2,000 units. The EPA-estimated 314-mile range, the LYRIQ’s stylish appearance, and its affordable starting MSRP of $58,590 all attract buyers. Its allure among EV aficionados has been further solidified by the fact that it can be charged in public DC fast charging to increase range by up to 77 miles in just 10 minutes.
The Cadillac Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance technology and the LYRIQ’s elegant interior, which combines comfort and state-of-the-art technology, are examples of innovation.
This achievement paves the way for Cadillac’s growing line of electric vehicles. The ultra-luxury ESCALADE IQ and the entry-level OPTIQ SUV will be part of the portfolio by the end of 2024. Cadillac will become one of the only automakers with an all-electric luxury SUV in every segment when the three-row VISTIQ SUV makes its debut in 2025.
The LYRIQ is a component of General Motors’ aggressive EV plan, which helped the company achieve 300,000 EV sales in 2024. Cadillac is well-positioned to solidify its position as the market leader in luxury EVs with the 2026 arrival of the high-performance LYRIQ-V.
