BYD India has forged an alliance with Shoffr, a premier electric taxi service headquartered in Bengaluru. The collaboration aims to introduce 50 e6 electric passenger vehicles, marking a significant stride towards fostering sustainable transportation in the city.

The ceremonial handover of the initial batch of e6 electric vehicles to Shoffr was graced by notable executives from both entities, including Mr. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, Mr. Shrirang Joshi, National Sales Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, Mr. Vikas Bardia, Founder and CEO of Shoffr, and Mr. Kislay Verma, Co-founder & CTO of Shoffr.

In the project’s initial phase, 20 state-of-the-art BYD e6 vehicles were dispatched in Bengaluru. Over the subsequent month, BYD India plans to deliver the remaining 30 vehicles to Shoffr. This joint initiative underscores the mutual commitment of both organizations to embrace electric solutions and foster eco-friendly mobility while curbing carbon emissions.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan expressed enthusiasm, said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Shoffr, as it perfectly resonates with our steadfast dedication to advancing sustainable mobility across regions.” He highlighted the BYD e6 as not merely an electric vehicle but a holistic approach toward redefining transportation, integrating cutting-edge technology, safety measures, and a strong environmental sustainability focus.

Shoffr’s Founder and CEO, Vikas Bardia, echoed the sentiment, highlighting their trust in the quality of BYD e6 cars, which have been in service for over a year. He indicated a desire to strengthen the cooperation with BYD India, promoting Shoffr as a leader in ride quality.

The BYD e6, India’s leading electric MPV, distinguishes itself by utilizing the ultra-safe Blade Battery technology and sporting a stunning 71.7 kWh capacity. It is India’s longest-range eMPV, with an extraordinary WLTC city range of 520 km and a combined range of 415 km on a single charge.

The Blade Battery has passed rigorous testing without incident, setting new standards for safety and reliability. The BYD e6 has DC rapid charging capability and can charge from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes. It also has a class-leading 580 L boot space, a comfortable suspension system, Bosch’s intelligent brake control, and energy regeneration features, all while prioritizing safety with integrated electric powertrain components, airbags, and seat belt reminders for a complete driving experience.
