11 years have passed since BYD India, a BYD affiliate, unveiled its first electric bus in Chennai in 2013.

According to the corporation, more than 600 reservations have been made for its Cosmos Black edition and the new BYD ATTO 3 versions in just one month. BYD India has responded by extending the BYD ATTO 3 Dynamic variant’s introductory pricing offer.

The response to the new versions, according to Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, indicates the growing desire for cutting-edge electric vehicles in India. He stated that the goal of the extended pricing offer is to increase accessibility for potential customers of the vehicles.

Globally, BYD has moved to the 143rd position in the Fortune Global 500 rankings and remains in the Top 10 global automotive brands according to the Kantar BrandZ Most Valuable Global Brands 2024 report. The company reports having manufactured over 8 million New Energy Vehicles globally, which it states has contributed to a reduction of over 62 billion kilograms of carbon emissions.

The BYD ATTO 3 is an all-electric SUV introduced to the Indian market by BYD India. It features a 60.48 kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of up to 521 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque.

In terms of design, the ATTO 3 has a modern exterior with LED lighting and a distinctive front grille. The interior includes a rotating 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Safety features comprise seven airbags, ABS with EBD, and various driver assistance systems.

The company has introduced different variants of the ATTO 3, including a Cosmos Black edition. The company has reported significant bookings for these new variants within a short period. To attract more customers, BYD India has extended the introductory pricing offer for the Dynamic variant of the ATTO 3.

The ATTO 3 competes in the premium electric SUV segment in India, positioning itself as an option for consumers interested in electric mobility.
