At its Qingdao factory, BYD shipped 100 fully electric buses to CUTCSA, the biggest electric public transportation operator in Uruguay. This delivery ceremony significantly advances Uruguay’s green transportation industry and is another major milestone for BYD in the global commercial vehicle market.  A number of guests attended the event, including BYD Uruguay’s Deng Yuan, President Juan Antonio Salgado, Deputy General Manager Zhang Lin of BYD America Auto Sales Division, General Manager Fernando Barcia, Minister Counselor Martin Orlando of Uruguay in China, and General Manager Wang Bao Can of BYD’s Commercial Vehicle Factory in Qingdao.

During the ceremony, CUTCSA gave the entirely electric buses excellent reviews for their functionality, quality, environmental sustainability, and efficiency. The corporation stated that it is committed to working together to achieve a fleet that is all electrified by 2040.

The 12-meter-long K9UD electric buses that were supplied are designed specifically for the Uruguayan market with an emphasis on energy economy, smart technology, environmental sustainability, comfort, and safety.

In addition to showcasing BYD’s most recent technology advancements, these customized buses stand for the two companies’ genuine collaboration and continuous development, and they are a crucial milestone in Uruguay’s effort to electrify all public transportation.

As BYD continues to lead the region’s electrification of public transportation, its new energy buses have established notable footholds in major Latin American nations such as Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador in the meantime.
