BYD is set to launch the Song Ultra EV, the first B-segment electric SUV in its Dynasty lineup. The vehicle offers a long driving range of up to 441 miles (710 km) and is expected to be priced around $26,000 (≈180,000 yuan), making it one of the most affordable long-range EVs in China.
The Song Ultra EV measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, slightly larger than the Song L DM-i PHEV. It is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor producing 362 hp (270 kW). Buyers will have a choice of two battery packs: 75.616 kWh and 82.73 kWh, which provide a CLTC driving range of 385 miles (620 km) and 441 miles (710 km), respectively.
The SUV features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and is equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye B” advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), supporting Level 3 autonomous driving on highways and city roads, along with automated parking.
The Song Ultra EV is designed as a crossover SUV that combines long-range capability with affordable pricing, targeting buyers looking for a high-value electric vehicle. The model is expected to launch by the end of 2026 and will compete in the growing Chinese EV market as an accessible option for families and urban drivers seeking extended range and advanced driving assistance features.
