BMW India has reached a major milestone in its electrification journey, announcing the delivery of 5,000 electric vehicles across the country. Alongside this achievement, the luxury automaker has unveiled a 4,000-kilometre EV charging network, significantly strengthening India’s growing premium electric mobility ecosystem.

The newly launched charging infrastructure spans key highways, metro cities, and upcoming urban hubs, strategically addressing range anxiety – one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in India. By enabling convenient long-distance travel, BMW aims to provide reliable and premium charging solutions, making electric mobility more accessible to its customers.

BMW India’s EV portfolio – including the BMW iX luxury SUV, i4 sedan, i7 flagship electric sedan, and MINI Cooper SE – has steadily gained traction among Indian buyers. The delivery milestone demonstrates the growing acceptance of electric luxury vehicles, once considered niche, in India’s rapidly evolving mobility landscape.

Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, stated,

“Delivering 5,000 EVs is not just a sales achievement but a reflection of customer trust in BMW’s vision. With our 4,000 km charging network, we are ensuring that electric luxury mobility in India is not just aspirational but also practical and future-ready.”

      Global Vision and Future Outlook

BMW’s India milestone aligns with its global electrification roadmap, where the brand aims for 50% of global sales to be fully electric by 2030. The company has also pledged to become climate-neutral by 2050, supported by investments in sustainable manufacturing, recycling, and advanced battery technologies.

India plays a crucial role in this transition. The success of BMW’s EVs in the country showcases the rising demand for luxury electric mobility and reinforces India as a strategic market within BMW’s global plans. Experts believe that with expanding charging infrastructure and supportive government policies, the Indian EV premium segment is set for double-digit growth over the next five years.

With this achievement, BMW India has positioned itself not only as a frontrunner in premium EV sales but also as a key contributor to the country’s sustainable mobility transition, paving the road toward a fully electrified future.
