The long-term relationship between Rimac Technology, based in Zagreb, Croatia, and the German luxury vehicle brand BMW Group was announced.

The goal of the partnership is to jointly research, develop, and manufacture cutting-edge high-voltage battery technologies for specific battery-electric cars.

The partners hope to take advantage of each other’s skills and strengths in order to enhance the relationship in a positive way. The goal of BMW Group’s electrification strategy is to strengthen its dominant market position in the luxury electric vehicle market.

The German luxury brand projects that by 2030, battery-electric cars will sell for more than half of all automobiles worldwide. The collaboration benefits from the battery and electric powertrain system experience that the BMW Group has accumulated over more than 15 years.

As a vital component of the Rimac Group, Rimac Technology is distinguished as a Tier 1 supplier with a focus on vehicle electrification. High-voltage battery packs, e-axles, electronics, and software solutions are all part of its range.

Products from Rimac Technology are internally created, engineered, and produced to provide cutting edge technology with a high level of customisation. The BMW Group’s long-term cooperation with Rimac Technology indicates the company’s shift from high-performance solutions provider to high-volume tier 1 supplier. With the company’s constant expansion and the launch of the Rimac Campus, Rimac Technology is prepared to complete projects to the greatest automotive standards.

At a later time, the two partners will provide more information regarding the nature of the strategic partnership, including its extent and contents.

The BMW Group is also getting ready for the launch of the sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology, which will mark yet another major advancement in all customer-relevant aspects like range and charging time, in addition to the new strategic cooperation.
