EV charging company Blink Charging is stepping up to provide assistance to clients caught in the switch as EVBox closes its Everon operations in North America and Europe.
Everon, EVBox’s software division, recently declared that it is closing its AC charger business in tandem with EVBox. Many drivers and hosts of charging stations are now unsure about what to do next. EVBox Everon is now recommending Blink to its clients as a substitute.
Blink claims that it is prepared to assist, whether that means replacing outdated equipment with new Blink chargers or maintaining the functionality of current chargers.
Alex Calnan, general director of Europe for Blink Charging, stated, “EVBox has contributed significantly to the expansion of EV charging infrastructure throughout the UK and mainland Europe, and we acknowledge the trust hosts have placed in its solutions.” “It’s normal to wonder what this means for operations given the recent revelation of Everon’s exit from the EV charging market.” “We at Blink want to reassure Everon clients that we are available to support them during this change.”
According to Blink, it may provide guidance, substitutes, and continuous network administration to ensure a seamless transition.
The Blink Charging app will provide Everon users who transition to Blink with access to the Blink Network portal. In addition to allowing hosts to manage users, establish prices, and download performance data, it also provides real-time information on charging usage.
“Our charging technology at Blink is prepared for the future,” Calnan continued. “Our chargers are designed to support the future of electric vehicles and charging habits, especially with advancements like vehicle-to-grid technology on the horizon.”
For any Everon customers wishing to make the switch, the company claims that its chargers are available and ready to ship right now.
Engie, a French company, declared in October 2024 that it would sell off the whole EVBox group, claiming that the company had lost €800 million since Engie acquired it in 2017. EVBox is shutting down its businesses in the US, Germany, and the Netherlands.
