Bigbasket, the leading online grocery platform under Tata Enterprise, is significantly expanding its electric vehicle (EV) delivery fleet across 50 cities in India through a strategic partnership with EV infrastructure specialist Kazam.
This collaboration will see Kazam provide its advanced EV infrastructure and fleet management solutions, helping Bigbasket optimise delivery routes, improve driver performance, and monitor energy consumption more efficiently. The move also aligns with Bigbasket’s broader commitment to sustainability by reducing emissions across its supply chain.
Currently, Bigbasket operates more than 4,000 charging stations in 773 locations nationwide. These stations are supported by 24/7 security, comply with LEVAC standards, and adhere to zero downtime guidelines to ensure consistent operations. By integrating Kazam’s technologies into its system, Bigbasket aims to centralise control over its EV fleet, leading to cost efficiencies and enhanced operational performance.
TK Balakumar, Chief Operating Officer of Bigbasket, emphasised the company’s dedication to sustainability:
“Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us but built into our DNA. This collaboration will enable us to scale precisely and integrate cutting-edge energy technologies into our supply chain.”
Bigbasket has set an ambitious target to make 60% of its delivery fleet electric by 2030. The company has already achieved more than 64 million green kilometres of delivery and managed over 3.2 GWh of sustainable energy to date.
With this expansion, Bigbasket continues to lead the way in adopting green logistics solutions, aiming to provide eco-friendly and efficient delivery services to customers across India.
