The government has announced that the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 will be held from January 17 to January 22 at three venues in Delhi NCR. This will be the second edition of the annual Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will converge the biennial vehicle and component exhibitions organised by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association under one umbrella brand.

The government and industry associations were considering hosting the second edition of Bharat Mobility next year between January 17 and 22, at multiple venues in Delhi NCR, including Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre, Dwarka) and India Expo Mart (Greater Noida) simultaneously.

Amardeep Singh Bhatia, additional secretary of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, said, “It has been decided that the next Bharat Mobility Expo will be held between January 17 and 22. All the associations have come together and decided to have it on these days. It is going to be a larger event and will be held at three venues – Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and India Expo Mart.”

The idea behind the Bharat Mobility Global Expo was put forward by the government this year in a bid to present India as a mobility hub in the global landscape by providing one exhibition platform to the entire mobility ecosystem. The first edition of the Bharat Mobility was held from February 1 – 3 this year.

The three-day event was organised under the guidance of several ministries, including the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, in partnership with various industry associations such as SIAM, ACMA, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, India Energy Storage Alliance and NASSCOM.

“Bharat Mobility will now act as an umbrella brand under which individual shows of various industry associations would be undertaken. While overall branding will be Bharat Mobility for the entire mobility value chain, each part of that value chain will retain its branding during the period at three locations,” said, Vipul Bansal, joint secretary with the Department of Commerce.

Until last year, vehicle and component expos were held as two separate events, organised by SIAM and ACMA respectively, once every two years. After the success of the first edition of Bharat Mobility, Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush said the government and the industry associations will merge all automotive shows into the Bharat Mobility Show, which will become an annual event.

When asked at which venue the Motor Show and Component Show will be held, Bansal said the government and industry associations are yet to finalise it. The Motor Show is likely to be held at Bharat Mandapam, while the component show could be held at Yashobhoomi.

The government has given the flexibility for industry associations to decide on the duration of their respective exhibitions from January 17 to 22, as some of the exhibitions have varying durations. For instance, the Motor Show 2023 was a six-day event, whereas the Component Show was a four-day event. “Bharat Mobility 2025 is from January 17 to 22. Since there is a cost attached to each exhibition, associations will figure out their space and viable time within that period,” Bansal added.

India is currently the world’s third-largest passenger vehicle market and is among the major two-wheeler and commercial vehicle markets in the world. With electric vehicle adoption picking up, the government expects the country to be the largest electric vehicle market in the world by the end of this decade. While addressing the industry during the first edition of Bharat Mobility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s mobility sector is at the onset of a golden period with the economy expanding fast on its journey to a developed country status by 2047.
