Audi has unveiled the third-generation Q3 ahead of the IAA, introducing a plug-in hybrid variant that offers an electric-only range of up to 119 kilometres (WLTP). The new Q3, available both as a classic SUV and a Sportback coupé, is now open for orders, with deliveries beginning in October 2025.
The Q3 e-hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine delivering 130 kW, paired with an 85 kW electric motor. Together, they generate a system output of 200 kW and 400 Nm of torque. Unlike other VW Group models such as the Passat and Tiguan, Audi will only offer the 200 kW version of the powertrain.
A key highlight of the new Q3 is its improved high-voltage battery. With a gross capacity of 25.7 kWh (19.7 kWh net), the battery nearly doubles the energy content of its predecessor while retaining a similar size. Enhanced cell chemistry and packaging efficiency have made this upgrade possible.
This new battery enables significantly improved performance, with the Q3 e-hybrid achieving up to 119 km of electric driving range, while the Q3 Sportback e-hybrid offers 118 km. The battery also supports both 11 kW AC charging and 50 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% recharge in under 30 minutes.
Pricing starts at €49,300 for the Q3 SUV e-hybrid 200 kW and €51,150 for the Sportback version. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner stated, “With the third generation of the Audi Q3, we are renewing an important model family as part of our product initiative and strengthening our range with a powerful plug-in hybrid and efficient combustion engines. The new model combines efficiency, driving dynamics, and comfort.”
