All-electric Audi cars are now being produced by the Audi FAW NEV Company, a collaborative effort between Audi and longtime partner FAW. An important part of Audi’s strategy for the Chinese market is the company and its new, cutting-edge plant.

The Q6L e-tron family and a market-specific Audi A6 e-tron will be the first fully electric Audi cars produced exclusively on the PPE platform at the new Changchun production plant, making it the first in China.

China has begun producing the first Audi vehicles that are entirely electric and built on the PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric). Audi’s next-generation all-electric vehicle platform, the PPE, sets benchmarks for driving dynamics, performance, range, and charging. The Audi Q6L e-tron and the Audi Q6L Sportback e-tron are the first mid-sized and full-sized PPE vehicles produced by Audi FAW NEV Company. The Audi A6 e-tron will soon be available in a China-specific version.

The first electric car built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) system in China is the Audi Q6L e-tron. In addition to its customarily longer wheelbase, it also has a number of design elements and developments tailored for the Chinese market that set it apart from the global model. For instance, the Q6L e-tron’s interior features a digital experience that was created especially for China. With a sleek coupé-like shape, the Audi Q6L Sportback e-tron, its sister model, combines the SUV model’s best features.

An important step in the continued success of Audi’s electrification plan in China is the commencement of manufacturing at Audi FAW NEV Company. Audi will provide a wide range of automobiles designed especially for the Chinese market in close cooperation with its two partners, the regional automakers FAW and SAIC.
