Within a year of its debut, Ather Energy Limited, the top producer of electric two-wheelers in India, said that the Rizta, its family scooter, has surpassed the one-lakh unit retail sales milestone. Since its launch in April 2024, family scooter consumers all throughout India have responded favourably to the Rizta, which has helped Ather’s market share increase significantly.
“Reaching the 1 lakh milestone with the Rizta is a big moment for us,” stated Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, in response to this milestone. “The Rizta, which was created from the ground up with an emphasis on meeting the requirements of Indian families, has been crucial in helping us reach a larger audience and establish connections with more clients. It has almost all the characteristics a family scooter needs, including a roomy and cosy seat, lots of storage, safety features, and dependability to make daily commuting simple. All of this is combined in the fantastic design for which Ather is renowned. The Rizta has expanded our consumer base, helped us increase our market share in certain states, and sped up adoption in states where we were previously under-represented in less than a year since its launch.”
Ather’s first family scooter, the Rizta, broadened the company’s product line and helped it reach a far wider range of consumers in the nation. Ather’s market share has grown significantly in several important states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, since increasing deliveries in Q2 FY25. Since its debut, Rizta has emerged as the most popular option among consumers, making up about 60% of all purchases to date. Its robust feature set, which strikes a mix between comfort, smart technology, and everyday practicality, is what makes it so popular. Furthermore, according to Vahan statistics, Ather became the top brand in South India in Q4FY25 thanks to the Rizta and the Ather 450 series.
In addition to a number of safety and connected features, the Rizta has a broad and comfy seat, a roomy floorboard, and 56L of under-seat storage to improve ride pleasure. On low-friction surfaces like gravel, sand, water, or oil, the traction control system SkidControlTM, which was first installed on the Rizta, regulates motor output to keep the vehicle from losing traction. Additional safety features include the Emergency Stop System, which quickly flashes the tail light to alert the car behind you that you’re stopping abruptly, and the Tow & Theft Alert, which alerts the owner of any unauthorised movement of their scooters. Additionally, the software enabled “Live Location Sharing”, a feature of the AtherStack 6 that improves riders’ safety in emergency circumstances by enabling riders to share their location with a preset contact with a few clicks. Google Maps is also included on the dashboard of the Rizta for convenient navigation.
