By establishing more than 430 fast charging stations in 38 locations, the electric two-wheeler producer Ather Energy has increased its footprint in Tamil Nadu with the goal of hastening the uptake of electric vehicles by making charging more accessible.
In order to facilitate cross-brand compatibility for light electric vehicles, the company has also installed Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS) devices at 50 locations as part of this expansion.
Since 2019, Tamil Nadu has been one of Ather Energy’s first markets, according to Chief Business Officer Ravneet Singh Phokela. Reaching the milestone of 400+ fast chargers in the state, he said, demonstrates the company’s dedication to addressing the issue of charging infrastructure, which continues to be one of the largest obstacles to EV adoption.
As of June 30, 2025, Ather runs 42 service centres and 44 Experience Centres in Tamil Nadu in addition to the charging network. The Ather Grid currently has over 3,300 fast charging stations nationwide, which helps to sustain the brand’s expanding clientele.
By making EV ownership more feasible and convenient with this most recent development, Ather hopes to promote a broader movement in the state towards sustainable mobility.
