Ather Energy has announced the launch of its new EL platform, the company’s first major two-wheeler architecture upgrade since the Ather 450 series. The platform is designed to support a wide range of upcoming scooters, including family-orientated models, maxi-scooters, and sporty variants.
Built on extensive field data, the EL platform features a redesigned chassis, upgraded powertrain, and improved electronics. According to Ather, it will enable 15% faster assembly, double the service efficiency, and extend service intervals up to 10,000 km.
Alongside the platform, Ather introduced AtherStack 7.0, its largest software upgrade yet. The update adds AI-powered voice commands and pothole and crash detection, as well as enhanced anti-theft systems such as ParkSafe and LockSafe. The upgrade will be rolled out via over-the-air (OTA) updates to existing models, including the Rizta Z and Ather 450X (Gen 3 onwards).
The company also showcased Redux, a concept moto-scooter, and unveiled Infinite Cruise, a first-of-its-kind adaptive cruise control system designed for Indian conditions, offering modes like CityCruise, Hill Control, and Crawl Control.
To complement the platform, Ather revealed a compact 6 kW fast charger, half the size of the current units and twice as fast—adding up to 30 km range in just 10 minutes. The charger, compatible with the LECCS standard, could also feature integrated tyre inflators for added convenience.
Looking ahead, Ather confirmed that its new manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, will play a key role in scaling production for EL-based scooters.
The launch underscores Ather’s focus on combining scalable hardware, smart software, and faster charging solutions to strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing EV market.
