Ather Energy has unveiled a groundbreaking riding feature called Infinite Cruise for its flagship 450 Apex electric scooter. The announcement was made during Ather Community Day 2025, where the company showcased its next wave of innovations.
A Smarter Take on Cruise Control
Unlike conventional cruise control systems that lock the scooter at a fixed speed, Ather’s Infinite Cruise adapts dynamically to Indian road conditions. It allows riders to experience smoother, more controlled journeys in diverse traffic scenarios and terrains.
Key Riding Modes
The Infinite Cruise system introduces multiple intelligent modes designed for real-world usage:
-
CityCruise – Designed for stop-and-go traffic, it automatically disengages during braking and resumes with throttle input.
-
Hill Control – Offers torque assistance while climbing and applies regenerative braking on descents for added stability.
-
Crawl Control – Maintains a steady low speed of around 10 km/h, ideal for congested or uneven roads.
OTA Updates for Wider Accessibility
The new feature will first be available on the Ather 450 Apex but is also being rolled out to existing scooters via over-the-air (OTA) software updates. This ensures that the broader Ather user base can benefit without hardware upgrades.
Enhancing Rider Comfort and Safety
With Infinite Cruise, Ather aims to reduce rider fatigue, especially in urban commutes and challenging terrains. The feature adds another layer of comfort and safety, positioning the 450 Apex as one of the most technologically advanced scooters in India’s EV market.
