With a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack and a wonderful 161 km IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range, Ather Energy has introduced a new version of its well-liked 450S electric scooter. The updated 450S, which retails for ₹145,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), meets the needs of riders who want a longer range without compromising the brand’s renowned sporty performance.
In Ather’s growing 450 series, the new 450S model sits comfortably between the entry-level 2.9 kWh model and the high-end 450X. Sharp lines, streamlined LED lighting, and a sturdy construction are all part of its aggressive design language. The scooter retains its agile handling and lightweight feel even with the larger battery pack, which is neatly housed in the floorboard.
The scooter is powered by the same 5.4 kW motor that produces 22 Nm of torque, allowing for a top speed of 90 km/h and a 0–40 km/h sprint in just 3.9 seconds. With the scooter’s four ride modes—Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, and Sport—riders can alternate between efficiency and excitement based on the circumstances.
Additionally, Ather hasn’t skimped on features. Turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-inch DeepView display, and several safety features like AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, and theft alerts are all included in the 450S. Regular Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates ensure the car remains ready for future developments.
The battery can be charged at home in 4.5 hours, from 0% to 80%, or through Ather’s growing Grid network, which has over 3,300 fast-charging stations throughout India. Ather provides the “Eight70” warranty, which covers the battery for eight years (or 80,000 kilometres) for added peace of mind.
The new 450S variant is currently accepting reservations, and deliveries are anticipated to start in August 2025. The scooter is priced competitively in major metro markets, with prices of ₹1,48,047 in Delhi, ₹1,48,258 in Mumbai, and ₹1,47,312 in Chennai.
In keeping with its performance-focused DNA, this launch reaffirms Ather’s dedication to lowering the cost of premium electric mobility.
