Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has announced a new strategic partnership with FAMCO Qatar, part of the Al-Futtaim Group. The collaboration is designed to significantly scale Ashok Leyland’s reach in the Qatari market and support the country’s growing demand for dependable and sustainable commercial mobility solutions.

Through this partnership, FAMCO Qatar will oversee the distribution of Ashok Leyland’s entire range of commercial vehicles, including its well-known buses, light- and medium-duty trucks, and upcoming electric mobility products. The move strengthens Ashok Leyland’s long-term expansion strategy in the Gulf, providing the company with a strong and credible local partner in a rapidly developing automotive landscape.

As part of the product introduction plan, customers in Qatar will now have access to Ashok Leyland’s Falcon and Oyster buses, both of which are widely recognized for their safety, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency. The company will also supply its proven Boss and Partner truck series, aimed at improving fleet operations for logistics, construction, and industrial businesses. Additionally, Ashok Leyland confirmed its intention to bring its electric buses to the Qatari market, supporting the nation’s sustainability goals and its transition toward cleaner transportation.

The alliance is supported by FAMCO Qatar’s robust dealer network, strong after-sales support, and industry expertise, which will help deliver reliable service and seamless customer support across the region. This partnership enhances Ashok Leyland’s ability to cater to Qatar’s expanding mobility, freight, and infrastructure sectors.

Commenting on the collaboration, Rajesh R., Head of International Operations at Ashok Leyland, said the partnership demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing innovative, high-quality mobility solutions to global markets. He noted that FAMCO’s strong reputation and operational excellence make it a valuable partner for market expansion.

Ramez Hamdan, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Industrial Equipment, added that the partnership aligns with Qatar’s vision for a more connected, efficient, and sustainable transport ecosystem. He emphasized that combining Ashok Leyland’s product strength with FAMCO’s market reach will deliver significant value to fleet operators and businesses across the country.

This collaboration builds on Ashok Leyland’s recent partnership with FAMCO in Saudi Arabia, further strengthening its presence in the GCC region. With Qatar emerging as a fast-growing commercial vehicle market, the alliance positions Ashok Leyland for strong growth and deeper market penetration in the Middle East.
