The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA Academy), and Prayaas Trust have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a scalable, industry-aligned skill development model for India’s automotive sector.

The collaboration aims to bridge the skills gap, empower economically marginalised youth, and promote inclusive employment opportunities nationwide.

Founded in 1998, Prayaas Trust has been working to “eradicate ignorance, create desire, and instill the will to realise one’s dream.” Its flagship Auto Service Technician Training has already benefited over 1,000 families in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, with a 90% placement rate.

Under the MoU, training centres will expand from 3 to 20 across India, targeting 5,000 youth over the next three years. Notably, 30% of the seats will be reserved for women, ensuring greater inclusivity.

      Defined Roles in the Partnership:

      • ASDC will design and regularly upgrade training modules aligned with emerging automotive technologies such as electric vehicles and AI-enabled systems.

      • FADA Academy will leverage its dealership network to provide structured placements, internships, and mentorships for enhanced job readiness.

      • Prayaas Trust will manage candidate identification, grassroots training delivery, and post-placement support, continuing its zero-cost model for beneficiaries.

The initiative will be supported through CSR contributions, industry collaborations, and individual donations, inviting corporates to co-create impact by funding centres, materials, and placements.

      Leadership Perspectives:

“This collaboration ensures underprivileged youth are not left behind in the industry’s evolution,” said Arindam Lahiri, CEO, ASDC.
“Together, we are shaping futures and strengthening India’s automotive workforce,” added Saharsh Damani, CEO, FADA Academy.
“This MoU elevates our grassroots mission to transform lives at scale,” said Sudhir Kumar, Secretary, Prayaas Trust.
“FADA Academy stands proud to support an initiative that bridges aspirations with opportunities,” remarked Manish Raj Singhnia, Chairperson, FADA Academy.
