The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) successfully hosted its 14th Annual Conclave 2025, themed “Stronger Together, Transform Tomorrow”, bringing together leaders from government, industry, and academia to discuss the evolving landscape of automotive skilling in India.

The event began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the annual update presented by F.R. Singhvi, President, ASDC, who highlighted key achievements in 2024–25. These included partnerships with universities, initiatives to advance women’s skill development and employment, stronger industry–academia collaboration, and the Council’s expanding international footprint.

Guest addresses featured prominent figures including C.S. Vigneshwar, President, FADA; Shradha Suri Marwah, CMD, Subros Limited & President, ACMA; C.V. Raman, CTO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.; and Dr Vinita Aggarwal, Executive Member, NCVET (Retd.)

C.V. Raman emphasised the role of advanced engineering, digitalisation, and disruptive technologies—including EVs, IoT, and AI—in shaping India’s mobility future. He called for skilling programmes to integrate experiential learning, industry–academia collaboration, and startup-driven innovation to support India’s $5 trillion economic vision.

Dr. Vinita Aggarwal stressed qualification standardisation, stating,

“India’s journey to becoming a global skill hub is powered by standardisation and industry alignment. With over 180 automotive QPs under NSQF, integrating hands-on training, apprenticeships, and micro-credentials is essential to building a future-ready workforce.”

The conclave also marked the release of a white paper and the signing of MoUs with Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Gandhi Auto, Delphi TVS, and Bosch India to scale up skilling initiatives nationwide.

Two high-impact panel discussions—Academic Excellence to Industry Impact: Aligning Talent Pipelines with Future Mobility Technologies and From Garage to Gigabyte: Skilling for Next-Gen Automotive Technologies—explored bridging classroom learning with industry demands in tech-driven automotive sectors.

Vinkesh Gulati, Vice President, ASDC, remarked,

“Our collective responsibility is to ensure that every young aspirant finds a place in the industry’s growth story. ASDC is committed to bridging the gap between potential and opportunity.”

The conclave also celebrated skilled candidates from ASDC flagship programmes at the Certified Candidates Convocation, alongside presentations on CSR Best Practices by Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp. Recognitions included International Placements, Rewards & Recognition Awards, and ASDC Excellence and Special Recognition Awards, honouring outstanding contributions to automotive skilling.

The conclave concluded with a strong message: public-private partnerships are critical to addressing the evolving needs of the automotive industry and positioning India as a global leader in mobility technologies.
